Can I just look over your shoulder at what you’re doing?

Let’s say you just got that nice cup of java, you start up the computer and … you hear, “excuse me, you don’t know me but I would like to just stand here and watch what you’re doing and maybe copy down a few things you type.  Would that be okay?”  If you are using FREE WIFI that does not require a password that is likely what is happening to you via someone in the same JAVA cafe or any place with FREE WIFI.  It is likely you doubt it, well, there is a place on the web that has a piece of software that is installed in seconds and there you go, you’re watching the screens of the computers using the FREE WIFI and it is downloaded at rate of 1000′s per minute!

Not to worry as there is a FREE way to not agree to that previous question and the instructions are here: Setup a VPN

Printing a Web Page Frame

Have you ever been on a web page and for some reason you could not print a particular area of text on the screen or it only partially printed?  This is likely due to it being in what is called an HTML iFrame.  The trick is to Right-Click in the area of text to print.  Each Browser has a different way to handle this issue;

1. Google Chrome ® and Internet Explorer ®; Right-Click in the area and Left-Click Print.  If it is an iFrame it will print the Frame, if not, it will print the current Webpage.

2. Mozilla Firefox ®; Right-Click in the area and if it is an iFrame there will be a option in the pop-up window “This Frame” and put the mouse on this and the next sub-menu has the option “Print Frame”, Left-Click this and complete the Print Dialogue box to print the Frame.

Windows Print Control Key

The previous POST explained some helpful Windows Short-Cut keys and here is another one the:

Ctrl + P key combination (press & hold Ctrl and press the P key and release both) to PRINT.  From just about any application this key combination will start the Printing process.  For example, if you have a PDF file opened in Adobe ®Reader or Foxit ® reader (or another PDF reader program) the print dialogue box (the box that appears where you can select the Printer to use and the printing preferences) will appear to print the open document.   The dialogue lets you select the number of pages which can be helpful if trying to print a browser page.  Select a total of 1 of 1 pages to test if what you need prints instead of printing 8 pages of which 1 is useful.
